Jalapeno Cheddar Turkey Burgers

Per serving:
1 Leaner protein 1 1/3 Condiment 3/4 Fat
Ingredients
- 28 oz lean turkey or beef
- 2 tbsp minced onion 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 4 tbsp low-fat cream cheese
- 2 oz shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1 fresh jalapeño pepper, diced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Directions
- Preheat grill to medium or oven broil to high
- In a bowl combine cream cheese, cheddar, garlic powder, and jalapeño.
- Combine meat, salt, pepper, and onion.
- Divide meat into 4 even pieces (7 oz each)
- Take 1/4 cream cheese mixture and flatten into a pancake shape.
- Wrap meat around cheese ensuring cheese is completely covered.
- Brush burger with olive oil.
To Grill:
Grill burgers over medium heat 6-7 minutes on each side( turkey internal temp 165 and beef internal temp 160°)
To Broil:
Place burgers on a foil-covered pan approximately 6" from broiler. Broil 5-6 minutes on each side
